Anne Hathaway is following in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt -- she's playing Catwoman!
The "Love and Other Drugs" star has officially signed on to the next Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises," as "Selina Kyle" -- A.K.A. Catwoman's alter-ego -- according to Deadline.
In the casting announcement, Writer/Director Christopher Nolan said “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”
Of course, the release makes no direct reference to "Catwoman" herself, just Selina ... so Anne may not don the infamous catsuit.
Also officially announced today was Tom Hardy in the role of Bane. Hardy and Nolan previously worked together on "Inception."
The flick is scheduled for a July 20, 2012 release.
