John Oliver blasted President Donald Trump on Sunday for showing favor toward Russian President Vladimir Putin and nothing but disrespect for Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep.
"There is no hard proof yet of direct links between Trump himself and Russia," the "Last Week Tonight" host said. "But he does have a noticeably soft spot for both the country and its leader."
After playing his viewers video footage of Trump praising Putin, Oliver said: "It's a bit weird. You've been objectively nicer to Vladimir Putin than you have to Meryl Streep."
Oliver then argued why Trump's aspiring friendship with Putin is a bad idea: "The problem is Trump has already given Putin a lot without realizing it, but Putin wants more. Experts say that he likely wants an end to US sanctions, for us to endorse his pro-Asad position in Syria, weaken NATO and to recognize his annexation of Crimea, all of which would be against American interests and values, but there seems a genuine danger that if unchecked Trump may trade any or all of that away in exchange for getting along better - whatever the f--k that really means - so someone needs quickly to get into Trump's ear and educate him how realistic getting along with Putin really is."
So Oliver took it upon himself to hire a bunch of pretty girls to sing and dance to "shitty" golden shower-themed techno music.
