Stephen King Mocks Donald Trump Wiretape Claims with Twitter Rant of His Own

Stephen King made Donald Trump the focus of a mock horror story that he posted on Twitter on Saturday, inspired by the president's accusations that Barack Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped during the 2016 election.

"Not only did Obama tap Trump's phones," King said, "he stole the strawberry ice cream out of the mess locker. Obama tapped Trump's phones IN PERSON! Went in wearing a Con Ed coverall. Michelle stood guard while O spliced the lines. SAD!"

King added: "Trump should know OBAMA NEVER LEFT THE WHITE HOUSE! He's in the closet! HE HAS SCISSORS!"

Saturday's tweets weren't even the first time that the famed horror writer set his sights on Trump. In October, King tweeted:

Trump on Saturday tweeted that he believed that President Obama tapped the lines in his New York offices during the election but didn't cite any evidence to back up his wild claims. Calling it "McCarthyism," Trump tweeted:
