After last week's controversy over a United passenger being violently hauled off an overbooked flight, Kimmel took another shot at the airline but this time drafting frenemy Damon to join the spoof.
The late night host is notorious for bumping his archenemy, Matt Damon from appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” so “The Great Wall” actor seemed like the perfect fit for the humorous ad.
“We’re United Airlines. We work hard to get you safely to your destination…” Damon said in a voiceover on top of footage of a series of happy passengers. “You know what? No. No, I can’t do this anymore because I know what it’s like to get bumped. Trust me, I’ve been getting bumped from Jimmy’s show for the last eight years, and it takes a toll. We’re people dammit, and we deserve to be treated with dignity…”
Kimmel then interrupted Damon’s speech by inviting his audience to “fly the friendly skies… [because] in some cases, some people deserve to get bumped.”
