Nick Cannon Grilled by Wendy Williams - 'Are You and Mariah Still Sleeping Together?' (Video)

Almost immediately, she asked the one question fans at home really want to know: "Are you and Mariah still sleeping together?"

"In my mind, I believe you are and there would be nothing wrong with that," she said to a shocked Cannon. "There would be nothing wrong with that. But that's not the case," he responded.

But she wasn't buying it. "After midnight and the wine is flowing, she never calls you, 'Hey Nicky,' and lets [her neglige] drop?'"

"There's nothing but unconditional love there," Cannon said. "I mean, she's gorgeous but, you know, I'm respectful. I put the kids to bed and I go home."

Wendy then said she's rooting for them to get back together again -- "in five years" -- and blamed Cannon for breaking up Carey's relationship with James Packer.

"I wanted her to be with the billionaire! More yachts for everybody," he joked.

When Williams threw doubt on her reality show relationship with Bryan Tanaka, Cannon said he only wishes for "her to be happy."

Despite the mutual respect for each other, something went wrong and Cannon explained why he believes they got divorced.

"I feel like when two people are in a relationship, it should be about growth. It should be a situation where everyone's becoming a better human being in the relationship," he said. "So when you get to a point where there's no longer any growth and you're not bettering each other -- especially as you're building a household to become one -- I felt like it was probably best, especially for our children, since they're the number one priority, if I could be the best human being and the best father from outside of that house. That's why it happened."

Cannon also revealed that Carey has not met the mother of his newborn baby boy, Golden, but she was happy for him.

As for the most "diva" thing he's ever seen his ex do: "Have twins! She shut the whole hospital down. When they was born, she made me play her music when they were coming out. To 'Fantasy.'"
