The day has finally (almost) arrived where a female superhero will get the big screen all to herself and according to Twitter, the long wait for "Wonder Woman" may have been worth it.
While anyone eagerly anticipating the Warner Bros. blockbuster will have to wait until June 2 to see Gal Gadot in action again after making her debut in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," lucky members of the press saw an early screening Thursday night. Full reviews are still under wraps, but 140-character-or-less reactions have started pouring in, and it seems like the latest DC actually has a good shot of ending up with a "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes (unlike "Suicide Squad" and "Batman v Superman," which were crushed by both critics and fans).
So far, reactions are overwhelmingly positive. Many called the film was "funny," "touching" and "thrilling," even calling Gadot and and co-star Chris Pine's chemistry “magnetic.”
Here are some of the early “Wonder Woman” reactions.
To all those who body shamed #GalGadot or said #wonderwoman was "a mess",this is for you.I hope y'all choke on it. pic.twitter.com/KasmKZaziQ

I loved Wonder Woman. First act's a bit slow, but it's optimistic, emotional, and *gasp* funny. Best DC movie so far.

Loved WONDER WOMAN. She reminds me of Christopher Reeve's Superman: true north superhero w/ no angst or cynicism, which is needed right now.

Gadot and Pine have great, funny banter together. The backdrop of WWI is bleak, but the characters never are. I rooted for them.

WONDER WOMAN: Easily my favorite DCEU film. Has the humor and heart the franchise so desperately needs. Gadot and Pine are charming as hell.

Huge props to WB/DC for making the first big budget superhero movie with a female lead. Taken far too long but the drought is over. https://t.co/PVMV8c7wQV

3. Rough parts? Sure. But guys, guys, YOU GUYS! You'll truly LAUGH. And you'll walk out, for once, feeling downright inspired by a DC movie.

Finally, I saw Chris Pine in a new light in #WonderWoman. He really, uh, fleshed out Steve Trevor. You could almost say he was…cheeky.
