On Thursday, the sad news of Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington's death shocked music fans everywhere.

TMZ reported that the singer committed suicide by hanging at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. He was 41.

After his exit from the Stone Temple Pilots, Bennington led Linkin Park to become one of the most iconic rock groups in music history.
