Ventimiglia tells TooFab of his character Jack: "You know, we've only known him for 18 hours and I think there's a lot to know about someone than just 18 hours of meeting them."
"This Is Us" returns to NBC Tuesday night after the season finale of Dan Fogelman's powerhouse drama left viewers hanging on the edge of their seats over how patriarch Jack Pearson played by Milo Ventimiglia will die.
Although the cast has been extremely secretive and have played coy about what to expect on Season 2, Ventimiglia confessed that he's passing the torch on his much-buzzed-about nude scenes. (On a side note: TooFab is not happy about this Milo development but Justin Hartley and Sterling K. Brown nude scenes will be an acceptable substitute.
"You know, I don't know if that will be pertaining to me, but I'm sure there will be some favorable scenes that people will enjoy," Ventimiglia told TooFab during an recent interview.
The Emmy-nominated actor said he hopes the new season will give viewers deeper look into the character of Jack Pearson.
"I think I'd just like to understand a little greater just who this man is. You know, we've only known him for 18 hours and I think there's a lot to know about someone than just 18 hours of meeting them," he said, "so I think understanding where his past lies and where his future is going, that's the best to hope for."
Ventimiglia's beloved TV daughter Kate played by fellow Emmy nominee Chrissy Metz spilled some details about Sylvester Stallone's stint on the series in which he plays himself. The actor will play a co-star and fatherly figure to Justin Hartley's character Kevin. And according to Metz, the 71-year-old was a perfect casting match for the family-oriented program.
"He’s the best. He gave me such great advice. He was so warm and just funny. I mean really funny. I thought he was going to be a little more stoic, but he could not be more funny,” Metz told TooFab. "He just said that it’s about having thick skin. It’s about being resilient in this town."
When asked how she hopes Kate's storyline will further develop in Season 2, Metz said she would like the writers to explore her rocky relationship with her mother Rebecca played by Mandy Moore.
"I really want to delve more into Kate and Rebecca’s relationship," said Metz. As far as Kate's burgeoning singing career in which viewers saw Kate shake her stage fright with a performance for senior citizens, the actress said to expect plenty more "right out of the gate."
"This Is Us" Season 2 premieres Sept. 26 on NBC.
