AMA Nominations 2017: Drake, Bruno Mars, Chainsmokers Take the Lead

Two-time AMA nominee Ciara announced the nominees for six categories live Thursday on "Good Morning America." "It's a huge honor, and it makes you feel like you've really accomplished something," she said of what a nomination means to an artist.

Halsey -- who also performed Thursday on "GMA" -- was nominated for "Closer," her hit song with The Chainsmokers. It's the pop singer's first AMA nomination.

"I was hoping! I had my fingers crossed," she said. "It's unbelievable. I think the first television performance I ever did was the AMAs ... having that come full circle is really special."

The 2017 American Music Awards will air live on Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
