Harvey's Hollywood Posse: 19 Actors Who Starred in Multiple Movies for Weinstein

The director discusses Weinstein scandal with "Suburbicon" star Matt Damon, who says he knew Gwyneth Paltrow was sexually harassed.

George Clooney and Matt Damon spilled on the Harvey Weinstein scandal on "Good Morning America" Monday morning, telling two conflicting accounts.

While Damon said he knew the disgraced movie mogul was a "womanizer," but never thought his behavior crossed the line of "criminal sexual predation," Clooney basically said he never believed that any actress would willingly sleep with Weinstein.

"Harvey would talk to me about women that he had had affairs with," the "Suburbicon" director said. "I didn't necessarily believe him, quite honestly, because to believe him would be to believe kind of the worst of some actresses who were friends of mine. And I didn't really think that they had affairs with Harvey quite honestly, and clearly they didn't."

"But the idea that this predator -- this assaulter -- was out there silencing women like that, it's beyond infuriating," he added. "And the fact that the story is coming out now and the more it comes out, I want to know all of it."

Damon, who plays the lead in Clooney's latest directorial effort, said he heard about Weinstein's sexual harassment habit from a secondary source.

"I knew the story about Gwyneth [Paltrow] from Ben [Affleck] because he was with her after Brad [Pitt] and so I knew that story," Damon said. "But I was working with Gwyneth and with Harvey you know, on Ripley. I never talked to Gwyneth about it. Ben told me, but I know that they had come to whatever agreement or understanding that they had come to, she had handled it and she was the first lady of Miramax and he treated her incredibly respectfully."

The actor continued to explain that everybody knew the producer was an "asshole" because "he was proud" of it, but he was unaware of the severity of sexual abuse occurring behind closed doors.

"If there was ever an event or something I was at in public with Harvey and he was doing this thing and I missed it, and there's some woman who was somehow assaulted and you know, it was at the Golden Globes or something and I somehow missed it, then I'm sorry," the actor said.

But it wasn't just sexual harassment that the producer is allegedly guilty of, Damon also detailed how the producer was known to be a "bully."

"You had to spend about five minutes with [Weinstein] to know that he was a bully. He was intimidating. That was his, that was his legend. That was his whole kind of M.O. like, could you survive Harvey? Could you stand up for yourself with Harvey," he said.
