"We’ll be talking about this one for a long, long time," one critic tweets, while another says it "dragged" in some parts.

Many "Star Wars" fans consider the second part of the original trilogy ("The Empire Strikes Back") the best "Star Wars" film of all time. Based on the social media reaction to the second part of the new trilogy, it looks like history may be about to repeat itself.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" had its world premiere Saturday night, and the response that came out of it has been overwhelmingly positive. Official reviews for the film have been embargoed until Tuesday, but that didn't stop critics and the few lucky fans who got to see it from giving their first impressions of the sequel via Twitter, with some proclaiming it may be the best "Star Wars" film yet.

They also started to get immediately nervous about spoilers, with many fans swearing off social media for the week, and even Mark Hamill tweeting the hashtag #KeepTheSecretsOfVIII. According to several of those in attendance, the best parts of the film haven't been spoiled in the trailers.

Rian Johnson, who wrote and directed the film, introduced the screening as a tribute to the late Carrie Fisher, who died shortly after finishing shooting her last turn as Princess Leia in "The Last Jedi."

"I want to dedicate tonight to Carrie, who is up there right now flipping me the bird, saying ‘Damn it Rian, don’t you dare make this night a solemn tribute,'" Johnson said to the cast, crew, critics and fans at the screening, according to The Guardian.

If these first impressions are anything to go by, stellar reviews should start dropping this week in anticipation of a $200 million opening weekend for the latest in the blockbuster franchise.
