"Someone tell this bitch to meet me outside," tweets the "Grey's Anatomy" star.
"Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo ripped Fox News' Laura Ingraham on Friday, in response to the TV host telling LeBron James and Kevin Durant to "shut up and dribble" after they criticized the President.
"Someone tell this bitch to meet me outside. I'm so not in the mood for playing nice or polite this week," Ellen Pompeo tweeted, after Ingraham's comments went viral.
She continued, tweeting:
Oh so sorry was that rude? I only have a 12 th grade education..and my gloves are off 😜😜😜 don't come for @KingJames— Ellen Pompeo (@EllenPompeo) February 16, 2018
Not to mention our poor kids today dont know if they will make it to 12 th grade ...because they are in danger of being mudered before that— Ellen Pompeo (@EllenPompeo) February 16, 2018
Pompeo was one of the many who called out Ingraham's remarks, which she made in response to a video interview the two basketball players did with Uninterrupted. "The climate is hot," James said. "The number one job in America, the appointed person is someone who doesn't understand the people and really don't give a f-ck about the people."
"At this time right now with the president of the United States, it's at a bad time and while we cannot change what comes out of that man's mouth, we can continue to alert the people that watch us, that listen to us, that this is not the way," he continued. "It's not even a surprise when he says something. It's like laughable. It's laughable, and it's scary."
Durant echoed James's thoughts, saying it comes down to leadership.
"I learned that playing basketball," Durant said. "I learned a lot of life skills from playing basketball... You need to encourage people and that's what builds a great team, and I feel like our team as a country is not ran by a great coach."
On Thursday night, Ingraham said the duo's comments were "barely intelligible" and had an "ungrammatical take."
"I'm numb to this commentary -- like must they run their mouths like that?" Ingraham said. "Look, there might be a cautionary lesson in LeBron for kids: This is what happens when you attempt to leave high school a year early to join the NBA and it's always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid a hundred million dollars a year to bounce a ball. Oh, and LeBron and Kevin: You're great players, but no one voted for you. Millions elected Trump to be their coach so keep the political commentary to yourself or, as someone once said, shut up and dribble."
Other athletes and media figures, including NFL star Chris Long, Dwyane Wade, ESPN's Jemele Hill and Ja Rule all slammed Ingraham -- see more comments below:

I’m sure the network she works for has interviewed a bunch of athletes, just couldn’t find the screenshots quickly. The point is, what’s the prerequisite for who can talk politics? So, Fox News folks who agree with Laura... you okay with these segments?— Chris Long (@JOEL9ONE) February 16, 2018
And if you reply “stick to sports,” you should probably tune of out Fox News because they’ve got karate guys talking climate change on there. (Which I’m cool with... it’s his right.) Unless it’s just about you needing to feel like you’ve got control of athletes like Lebron.— Chris Long (@JOEL9ONE) February 16, 2018
They use to try and hide it.. now the president has given everyone the courage to live their truths. https://t.co/OwLSMHIG0m— DWade (@DwyaneWade) February 16, 2018
LeBron is one of greatest examples of our country we’ve ever seen. He went from nothing to something. He had to be excellent at everything. To insinuate he’s not intelligent is appalling— Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) February 16, 2018
He should never address this. Do not give her the satisfaction. https://t.co/IhGNvBynHU— Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) February 16, 2018
If the box cutter lobby had been as powerful as the gun lobby, Laura Ingraham would have done a segment about the value of Box Cutters on the night of 9-11-2001 https://t.co/p5ZsEDaflq— Jesse Ferguson (@JesseFFerguson) February 15, 2018
People will do anything for attention. I would much rather her get on television and tell the world why she really hates these two black men who change people’s lives every day!#LauraIngraham— George Fant (@GeorgeFant74) February 16, 2018
Laura Ingraham did an entire segment tonight about how LeBron James is dumb.— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) February 16, 2018
LeBron is brilliant. pic.twitter.com/xSZF9HImBJ
Meanwhile Laura Ingraham, according to various faculty, was one of the most vile, homophobic students to ever attend Dartmouth. https://t.co/I9tMYg2rRk— Marlow Stern (@MarlowNYC) February 16, 2018
LeBron grew up poor, raised by a single mother, he worked hard, got a job right out high school, supported his family, made a business empire, had kids, got married, stayed married, and helped countless children in his community.— Kris Hanson (@krishansonRCF) February 16, 2018
What has Laura Ingraham done?
This Laura Ingraham stuff really has me bothered. However you feel about LeBron James the player, he is an American success story and has given more back to kids and a city than any of us could ever imagine. Shame on you @IngrahamAngle— Steven Spector (@StevenSpector10) February 16, 2018
I disagree with LeBron James on matters of politics, but I disagree with Laura Ingraham that he should "shut up and dribble." My disagreeing with him is unimportant. He is an American and has a First Amendment right to speak and a platform to do it.— Carmine Sabia (@CarmineSabia) February 16, 2018
Fox News anchor @IngrahamAngle told @KingJames to “shut up and dribble” and stay out of politics. I’d tell Laura Ingraham to stay out of politics but she doesn’t work in politics. She works in low-grade entertainment for really stupid people.— Ryan Knight, PROUD RESISTER 👊 (@ProudResister) February 16, 2018
Raise your right hand if Laura Ingraham’s got you real fucking triggered right now— Seerat Sohi (@DamianTrillard) February 16, 2018
When they ask LeBron and other athletes about Laura Ingraham this weekend, I hope they all respond “who?”— brandon / jinx (@Jersey_Jinx) February 16, 2018
I'm not sharing the Laura Ingraham video but I'm sure you can find it. While obviously an idiot, she does a great job proving LeBron's point about racism in the States while trying to refute it.— Steve O'Rourke (@steveohrourke) February 16, 2018
Anyway I bet a whole bunch of people just found out who Laura Ingraham is. She’ll be forgotten as “oh yeah the one who went off at LeBron that one time.”— Seerat Sohi (@DamianTrillard) February 16, 2018
In the meantime, LeBron will be a commercial and cultural icon for decades to come.
I had no idea who Laura Ingraham was until this morning and things were much better beforehand.— Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre) February 16, 2018
There are many different words for ignorance.— Sean Grande (@SeanGrandePBP) February 16, 2018
I'm sure Laura Ingraham knows them, since she went to college and all.
But as she demonstrates exquisitely here, education, is not intellect.
And clearly, it's not class either.
Maybe more listening and a lot less talking for her. https://t.co/xe10WRu28z
seriously, who needs my opinion on the most trite, obvious things? you know what i think of it. i know what i think and i haven’t even watched it. get mad for yourself. i’m not wasting it on laura ingraham. i think i spelled that right.— El Flaco (@bomani_jones) February 16, 2018
