"The school shooter never looks like the jock, the cheerleader or the popular kid," the rapper says.
Cardi B believes she has the answer to preventing future school shootings after 17 people were killed and 14 were injured at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, last week.
"I've been seeing a lot of school shootings happening and the school shooter never looks like the jock, the cheerleader or the popular kid. It always looks like a kid that's a little bit socially awkward and everything," Cardi B said in an Instagram video posted on Sunday. "I feel like one of the best ways to prevent these type of tragedies is [to] stop picking on these kids. Stop bullying these kids. The devil speaks to you the most when you feel helpless."
Cardi B advised her fans to say hello and compliment the kids who seem a little off.
"You're mad pussy for picking on somebody that you know is not going to defend themselves. Stop picking on these kids," she said.
The rapper's comments come after 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire with an AR-15 inside the Parkland high school on Wednesday, resulting in numerous fatalities. He now faces 17 counts of premeditated murder.
According to multiple reports, Cruz had a troubled past at the school. He was banned from bringing a backpack on campus, he got into physical fights with other students and eventually got expelled. Outside of school, Cruz had a violent Instagram showcasing numerous weapons and dead animals.
