"They went through the wringer this year," Tom Sandoval says about his "Vanderpump Rules" co-stars.

Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz have often been called "Jax's Apologists," but one of the Toms got very real on Monday's "Watch What Happens Live."

When a caller asked the "Vanderpump Rules" stars if they thought Brittany Cartwright was "too good" for their friend, Jax Taylor, Sandoval said, "Yes," in between coughs.

"I think, no, I think they -- they love each other so much," Schwartz added.

Host Andy Cohen was not buying it.

Then when another caller asked the Toms if they thought Brittany should stay with Jax, they both said yes.

"They've worked through their -- well, they're working through their problems," Schwartz said.

"They went through the wringer this year," Sandoval added. "But overall -- besides Jax screwing up and everything -- they've been genuinely really happy together from what I've seen."

You know what they say: Once a Jax apologist, always a Jax apologist.

"Vanderpump Rules" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
