"Overboard," starring Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez, hits theaters on May 4.
Eva Longoria is ready for a fake husband in "Overboard."
The scene takes place after the premise unfolds: Faris plays a struggling nursing student getting revenge on an obnoxious wealthy man (Eugenio Derbez) by pretending to be his wife after he suffers amnesia when he falls off his yacht.
Longoria plays Faris' friend who gives her the brilliant idea, which seems to work out in her favor.
"You are a genius," Faris declares while filling her friend in on how her life has improved since convincing the millionaire he's married.
"I want a fake husband," an envious Longoria responds.
In the original "Overboard," starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, the roles were reversed. Russell played a poor carpenter who scammed a wealthy debutante (Hawn) after she mistreated him aboard her yacht. Only time will tell how this version of the story compares to the 1987 classic.
