And we all know she eventually takes him up on his offer.
It's just another example of the bad omens and warning signs that plagued this WWE Superstar couple before Bella really did back out in April.
"Does it make you realize, like, it's actually happening?" Cena asks Nikki during a heart-to-heart conversation about the anxiety she's experiencing before the party.
"Yeah," she tells Cena. "I just get so busy with everything else, I didn't even have an outfit for today."
"You can still back out if you want," Cena jokes, to which Nikki responds, "I know, I have until 5/5 to do that."
"OK, can you maybe let me know on 5/4?" Cena said with a smirk.
She did one better, and let him know weeks in advance. The couple released a joint statement on April 15 announcing the decision to split.
Cena has indicated on the "Today" show he absolutely wants Nikki back and it was her decision to call off the wedding. Meanwhile, she also appeared on the NBC morning show days later and said she needs to focus on herself before she can reconsider a relationship with Cena.
"I do have hope for our future, but I know right now I need to work on me and before I do say those vows and walk down that aisle, I don't want to be hesitant, I don't want to be regretful," Nikki said earlier this month. "I think when you sacrifice for so long, it's like, you can give so much and you kind of get tired of giving and someone wants to give it back and you just already feel exhausted."
It appears some of those same emotions are bubbling to the surface in the next "Total Bellas" episode as their wedding gets closer.
"So the engagement party is here. I feel so overwhelmed," Nikki tells a camera in the preview clip. "I honestly feel like I'm about to have an anxiety attack. I just feel like I'm on this roller coaster of emotions and I feel like I'm going to explode. It's just all too much for me."
"Total Bellas" airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on E!
