Even Fox News Star Geraldo Rivera Hates That Network Condones Trump's Family Separation Border Policy: 'History Will Judge Us'

After Hollywood heavyweights Judd Apatow, Seth MacFarlane, "Modern Family" creator Steve Levitan and Paul Feig spoke out against Fox (MacFarlane and Levitan are currently employed by the conglomerate's TV studio and Feig has directed two movies for the movie studio arm), Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera clashed with Sean Hannity over the issue.

"Politics aside, this is cruelty as policy. This is an obscenity," Rivera said on Hannity's show Tuesday night. "This is the government of the United States and the president that we both love, advocating a system by which young children are torn from their mothers."

"History will judge us, Sean," Rivera continued. "We must take a stand on something. Here is where we draw the line."

Hannity tried to spew out his talking point -- this is all the Democrats' fault, of course! -- as Rivera relentlessly shamed the Trump administration for the policy to separate children from parents when immigrants are detained at the border.

"2,300 children have been torn from their parents forcibly. These are little babies, 18 months old. These are 10-year-olds with disabilities. They're taken from their parents. This is impossible. We can't condone this," Rivera said in his passionate plea. "The Republicans are the party of faith and family. When did we become the party of child abuse?"

Hannity, who is one of Trump's biggest cheerleaders on television, argued Democrats could "fix the law" if they accepted Trump's DACA deal and approved funding to build that border wall the president has been so hard on since 2016. The "Hannity" host's rhetoric suggests he believes Trump's blatantly false argument that families being separated at the border is the result of a law Democrats passed during Barack Obama's term in the Oval Office.

"The Democrats forced that law upon our nation. I hate it. I hate to see separation of parents and children," Trump said last Friday. "I hate the children being taken away. The Democrats have to change their law. That's their law."

Again, a number of fact checkers have found that claim to be false, and even Rivera called Trump out on it.

"He implemented this, Sean, on May the 7th and he can discontinue it tonight, and I hope he does," Rivera said.

When Hannity's other guest described people upset about the Trump administration's "zero-tolerance" immigration policy as "hysterical," Rivera got even more emotional.

"This is not hysterical! This is not hysterical!" Rivera shouted. "This is child abuse! How dare you! How dare you!"

Rivera ended his appearance with these final words directed at his host: "Just because you don't have sincere emotions, don't say I don't."

Rivera's fiery appearance on Fox News comes after super producer Judd Apatow began calling on other prominent figures in Hollywood -- especially those who work for Fox in any capacity -- to call out the cable news network and boycott the rest of the conglomerate's companies.

Hannity isn't the only network personality who doesn't seem to mind children being detained in cages without their parents. Laura Ingraham came under fire for describing the detention centers as "summer camp," while frequent network guest Ann Coulter called the migrant children "child actors," and alleged those featured in the news "are being coached," complete with "scripts to read by liberals."
