Who knew the perplexed contestants on "The Bachelorette" were just trying to understand Donald Trump's vision for interstellar dominance?
The world was collectively stunned, confused and amused when Donald Trump announced his directive for a sixth branch of the military, the "Space Force," and that reaction was perfectly summed up when Jimmy Fallon mashed up "The Bachelorette" with the press conference where the president unveiled his unexpected plan.
In Fallon's parody, the men chasing Becca Kufrin's heart are scratching their heads as hard as the rest of us as we ponder important questions.
Honestly, is anyone worried about threats from space? Is this a reasonable financial burden to put on the American economy? Is it a practical use of government funds? What does a "Space Force" even look like? Will Buzz Lightyear be involved in any capacity? Has the government even developed laser gun or lightsaber technology yet? If not, how can we even compete in an intergalactic war?
"Bachelorette" contestant Leo summed it up best: "You have to question his sanity."
"The Bachelorette" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The "Space Force" lives on only in Donald Trump's mind, for now.
