Hollywood and beyond were thrilled about the recordings that could potentially be used against Trump.

Stars such as Patton Oswalt, Rosie O'Donnell and Jeffrey Wright took to Twitter to rejoice after it was revealed Thursday that Michael Cohen may have recorded a conversation with Donald Trump.

Cohen is believed to have recorded a conversation with Trump discussing the purchase of rights to an unpublished National Enquirer story about Playboy model Karen McDougal's alleged affair with the future president. According to the New York Times, the recording was among the documents and materials seized by the FBI during the raid of his hotel, residences, and offices back in April.

McDougal said that the affair lasted over a year and began around the time that Melania Trump gave birth to son Barron. The conversation was said to have been recorded two months before the election in 2016. Although Trump denied the affair, this isn't the first time he has been linked to an extra-marital dalliance involving payoffs.

A similar situation happened with porn star Stormy Daniels who sued Trump over an alleged $130,000 agreement Cohen reportedly made to her on Trump's behalf to keep her quiet. Trump denied that they had an affair.

Hollywood and beyond were thrilled about the recordings that could potentially be used against Trump. In addition, stars are holding out hope that there will be more tapes to come. Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti wrote on Twitter that "all" of the tapes should be released, suggesting that there are more out there.

"When Comey said, 'Lordy, I hope there are tapes,' I doubt he was thinking about tapes Cohen made of Trump talking about paying off porn stars," George Takei wrote. "But with this White House, any kind of tapes might exist. Literally any.
