The singer tells TooFab the state of his relationship with the former "Real Housewives" star after their very entertaining beef on the CBS reality show.
The singer and actor stopped by our studio to perform a flawless acoustic rendition of his new single "All Day," but if you're a regular TooFab reader, then you know we love "Big Brother," so needed an update on his relationship with the former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star.
"We’re on a group text with everybody including Brandi. When ‘All Day’ came out, they all re-posted, including Brandi. And we’re cool," he said. "It was an obnoxious situation on the show, to say the least, but that was no surprise to anybody."
Their beef was one of the most entertaining aspects of their season, and they were both evicted in the same episode after Maslow finally snapped at her for constantly jabbing him during their time in the house.
"At least I beat Brandi," Maslow said in his farewell to the show. When Glanville got the boot, Maslow prepared a special video message for her: "Brandi, I have enjoyed absolutely none of the time I have spent around you. I’m ecstatic. It’s the best day I’ve had in the house thus far. Bye-bye."
But Maslow's view on the situation has since soften, and he even complimented the professional reality star.
"What she does for a living is very different than what I want to do for a living. And she’s used to trying to rile people up," he reasoned. "She almost created that medium and that environment. She’s proud of it and hell, and I’m going to give her props for doing that, because now that structure of unscripted TV, of reality, other people are trying to copy what Brandi started."
"I wish she could separate that and not try to do it with me all the time, because I don’t want to do that, but we’re completely fine," he added. "If I see her out and about, I give her a hug, say hi. That’s about the extent of our relationship."
Actress Marissa Jaret Winokur ended up winning the reality competition series after Maslow was eliminated, but he's still "proud" of his performance and "had a great time." He does, however, firmly believe his chances would have vastly improved on a regular season of "Big Brother."
"If I didn’t do what I do and went on a regular season as a regular dude, I would have crushed that show," he said. "Then I could have gone in and been the confident competitive person that I am. They tried to make me out to be this over-confident, arrogant person … that’s not how I was raised, that’s not how I ever want to act, but in a regular show that would have actually been an additive and I could have played that up. I think I would have done well."
So would he consider round two? "I lived in that house a month and that was enough."
