We're still not sure what the humans will be doing as giant monsters stomp all over the planet, but we're eager to find out!
"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" looks like it will live up to its title.
A new trailer that dropped Monday morning is loaded with big ol' beasts battling for supremacy while helpless humans are caught in the middle. Or scoffing at the idea of joining Team Godzilla as his famous foes -- Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah -- rise to lay claim to this world.
"So you'd want to make Godzilla our pet?" asks a skeptical senator in the trailer as they're briefed by cryptozoological agency Monarch on the rise of the "Titans."
"No," answers Dr. Ishiro Serizawa (Ken Watanabe), who you may remember from the first "Godzilla" movie in Warner Bros.' successful reboot of the franchise. "We would be his."
And we're cool with that, because as you'll see in the trailer below, he's the only being on earth we'd trust to square off against an even bigger monster with three heads.
"King of the Monsters" stomps into theaters on May 31 with an all-star cast, including Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Sally Hawkins, Thomas Middleditch, Bradley Whitford and Charles Dance, who you'll remember being perfectly awful as Tywin Lannister in "Game of Thrones."
Once Godzilla beats these chumps back down into the abyss they rose from, he'll taking on another monster movie icon -- King freakin' Kong -- when "Godzilla vs. Kong" hits theaters in 2020.
