Ellen also forces Jimmy to pull out his phone case so she can make fun of him. "It's like you're a Kardashian!" she exclaims.
Ellen DeGeneres couldn't get a speeding ticket if she tried.
On Monday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the two comedians were chatting about their driving habits when Ellen revealed she's simply unable to be punished for her lead foot.
"I was going like 35 on my way to work the other day, and this motorcycle cop was hidden. I just saw the front of him," Ellen explained. "And he had the gun -- not his gun, but like the speeding gun -- and he pulled me over because I was going 35 in a 30. So he walked up and said, 'I'm pulling you over 'cause you were going 35 in a 30.'"
"And then he kind of looked at me like he thought it might be me," she continued. "And then he said, 'Do you have a driver's license?' And I handed it to him, and he goes, 'You do a lot of good for the world, so...'"
Ellen said the officer handed her back her license and let her go. But that was neither the first nor the the last time that happened.
"I really don't speed that much, but I was speeding another time on the freeway," Ellen began a second story. "And this was after all the fires a year ago, and I did a lot for our community up in Montecito for the fires and the mudslides. I love firefighters and first-responders, so I do a lot for them."
"So I got pulled over for speeding," she continued. "That time, I was going fast. And it was just that feeling with the lights behind you and you just get so nervous. And I pulled over, and he walks up the side. I had the window down. And he goes, 'Listen, I-- Oh, my wife loves you!' I was like, 'Oh, good! You wanna get a selfie?!' He's like, 'Okay!' So we took a selfie."
Speaking of selfies, Ellen had a bone to pick with Jimmy. "Hey, can we talk about something real quick before I go?" she said to her friend and fellow talk-show host.
"Alright, so we saw each other this weekend at a party, and somehow, your wife, Molly, she showed everyone your phone. Do you have it with you?" Ellen asked. Nervously laughing, Jimmy said yes and pulled out his phone.
"I don't know why I've become a laughing stock over this, but I have," he said, reluctantly handing it to Ellen.
"I don't know how to turn it on, but why do you have [this case]?" she asked. "Do you take selfies often?"
"Never, no," Jimmy replied, turning on the light-up case for his audience to see.
"It's like you're a Kardashian!" Ellen joked. "Look at that! Why?!"
Jimmy -- being the adorable dad that he is -- explained that he uses the light to help him read menus in dark restaurants and take photos of his kids.
