Kutcher said he enjoys the paparazzi photo because it proved he had lost weight.
While appearing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday, the actor recalled how the daytime TV host inadvertently played matchmaker.
Kutcher, who met Shepard years before on his show "Punk'd", briefly reunited with the "CHiPs" star when their wives Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell were shooting their 2016 comedy "Bad Moms," but it took one more meeting for the two to restart the friendship fire.
"You know what's unbelievable is Kristen and Mila were shooting 'Bad Moms' together," Kutcher began. "So we kind of ran into each other when they were shooting that movie together, because we both happened to be in Atlanta where they were shooting."
"And then we came here to do this Mother's Day -- they were on for a Mother's Day special," he continued. "And Dax and I came and like gave them flowers...It was funny because it kind of like re-kickstarted our friendship because we'd done 'Punk'd' together years and years and years ago... and after we hung out on the show we're like 'God I really like hanging out with [you].'"
The "Two and a Half Men" star explained that after appearing on Ellen for the special he and Shepard started "hanging out again." This led to Kutcher appearing on Shepard's podcast "Armchair Expert" and Kutcher then inviting Shepard to join his Netflix series "The Ranch."
"Now we hang out everyday," Kutcher said and Ellen pointed out, "So it's all because of me."
"You kind of rekindled the thing that was like super special," Kutcher added.
During his appearance on the daytime talk show, Kutcher, who entered his interview riding in on a Bird scooter, also spoke about a viral paparazzi photo that shows his pants falling down. In the picture, Kutcher is seen getting into his car, with his butt crack clearly visible.
"I know there's a picture of you," Ellen said, showing the audience the image. "You shouldn't be proud of this and yet you are...Why are you proud of that picture?"
Kutcher said he enjoys the photo because it proves he had lost weight.
"It's not that I'm proud, that's like a good week, that shows me that I'm having a great week," Kutcher replied. "So I fluctuate about 10 pounds right? I got a 10 pound flux that happens...so I'm either ripping at like 198 or like 188 so when the pants are coming down that means I'm at a 188 week!"
He added, "Gift for me. Gift for you. Put it out there, it's the holidays!"
It was revealed that Kutcher and Kunis are neighbors to Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi. Kutcher recalled a hilarious anecdote in which Ellen shamed his 2-year-old son. See what it's all about in the link below.
