Aaron Perilo joins the cast of "True Blood" this season -- and now we know he definitely has the body to compete with the rest of the studs on set!
The newcomer, who plays vampire Sheriff Blackburn, made his first, brief appearance on the show in Sunday night's episode -- and showed off his impressive physique over the weekend while surfing in Malibu. Click on the "Launch Gallery" button below for more photos.
TooFab caught up with Perilo to talk about joining the show, how he got physically prepared for the role and even revealed his Hollywood crush(es).
TooFab: Can you tell us anything about your character, Blackburn?
Aaron: Well, I can say that my character is a bit of a bad boy. He likes to get bloody at a drop of hat. I am quite old and I am familiar with some of the other vampires on the show.
TooFab: What was the audition process like for this role?
Perilo: I went into the room and met [Executive Producer] Alan Ball and the casting director and they gave me a note before going in just to kinda have fun with it ... So I took that note and made Alan Ball laugh, which was great because I know if you can tap into his sick sense of humor, then you're golden.
TooFab: Were you a fan of “True Blood” before you signed on?
Perilo: Yeah, I watched it religiously from episode one. It took me about three episodes to really get into it, but then something happened on the third episode, something clicked and I was hooked.
TooFab: If you could hook up with any of the characters, who would it be?
Perilo: (laughs) Maybe the new shape shifter ... Sam's love interest right now.
TooFab: So the show is notorious for showing a lot of skin, did you have a problem with that? Were you nervous about the nude scenes?
Aaron: I can't say whether I showed skin or not, but I can say the second that I booked it I signed up for a CrossFit class. Do you know what CrossFit is? It's the most intense thing I've ever done, but I have been in CrossFit ever since just because the bar is set very high.
TooFab: Are you dating anyone?
Perilo: I am dating a girl, but she is not in the entertainment industry. She's a nurse actually.
TooFab: Who is your Hollywood crush?
Perilo: My Hollywood crush? Oh my gosh why is this name blanking me? The girl in the black swan…
TooFab: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis?
Perilo: Dang it, can't it be both? I would say Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis together. (laughs)
TooFab: Your next project is "In Time" with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried -- what was it like working with them?
Perilo: I had a scene with Justin Timberlake and it was really nice. Justin was a really cool guy, and very friendly and professional. It went well, and it think it will be a good piece of footage for me.
