The Lone Ranger and trusty sidekick Tonto ride into action again in 2013 -- and we've got the first trailer for the flick!
The movie stars Armie Hammer in the lead role and Johnny Depp as the Native American "spirit warrior" and re-teams Depp with "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" director Gore Verbinski.
The trailer shows trains in the Wild West, gun play, Tonto in jail, a "Moulin Rouge"-like whorehouse and a glimpse at Helena Bonham Carter in Western garb.
While the clip doesn't give away too much of the plot, here's the official synopsis from Disney:
“The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
"The Lone Ranger" opens July 3, 2013.
