"Jurassic Park" roars back into theaters this weekend with the release of "Jurassic Park 3D" -- and it's pretty hard to believe how long it's been since the film's initial release.
Even more surprising: After 20 years, the movie still holds up.
I recently attended a screening of the 3D version of the film and it's a sight to be seen.
Now, just months from my 30th birthday, I was instantly taken back to my childhood the second I heard John Williams' legendary score from the speakers -- it's that powerful.
And when Dr. Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Sadler (Laura Dern) see their first dinosaurs, I was still in awe with them as director Steven Spielberg's reliance on practical effects over CGI stands the test of time. These monsters are as scary and beautiful now as they were when I was 10 years old.
For me, "Jurassic Park" is the biggest and best blockbuster of the past 30 years. And while I'm not the biggest fan of 3D, I'll take any excuse to see it again in theaters.
And so should you.
For anyone with kids who have never experienced the movie in a packed cinema or anyone who just hasn't seen the movie in a while, it's definitely worth checking out again.
And remember: Hold onto your butts!
