Hope you all like Anna Kendrick's singing voice, because you're going to hear a lot of it in the next year!
The actress will be belting out tunes in this month's "Into the Woods," as well as "Pitch Perfect 2" -- but today, we got our first look at her singing in a third film, the highly-anticipated flick "The Last Five Years."
A film adaptation of the Off-Broadway musical of the same name, the movie tells the tale of a "Skiska Goddess" and struggling actress (Kendrick) and her Jewish novelist husband, played by Jeremy Jordan ("Smash," "Newsies" on Broadway).
Told in a very non-traditional way, all of Kendrick's songs begin at the end of the couple's marriage and move backwards in time, while Jordan's songs start at the beginning. A release for the film says the duo "meet in the center when Jamie proposes."
The studio promises the story is told "almost entirely through song" -- and you definitely get that feel from the trailer above. While some musicals try and undersell the singing, this one is all about it. There are barely any spoken words here!
The film hits theaters and video on demand starting February 13, 2015. Just in time for Valentine's Day!
