Proud New Yorkers, the couple tells the mag of a recent gourmet foray into local activism -- when they sent food trucks to feed protesters during last month's Eric Garner rallies.
"That was Chrissy's idea," Legend says. "Originally, we were thinking about buying out a restaurant, but we realized we should bring the food to them."
"You're making that phone call in the morning, hoping they agree to it, because obviously it's kind of a hot-button topic—you don't know who's going to want to be involved," she adds. "But everybody was so down. And so for the cause."
