Megyn Kelly isn't letting Donald Trump's decision not to participate in the FOX News Republican debate get to her!
"The Kelly Files" star -- who will be moderating Thursday's GOP debate -- opened up to Extra's AJ Calloway about news that Trump has refused to take part.
"It would probably be a bad decision to not show up at the FOX News debate," she explained to Extra. "I think this is the last chance they have before voting begins and he's still within two points of Ted Cruz. It's a tight race out there, but obviously it's up to Mr. Trump whether he's there or not there the show will go on."
Trump's says his decision not to attend the discussion has a lot to do with the "bias" he felt Megyn had towards him at the first FOX News debate back in August.
"Of course there is no bias there whatsoever,” Kelly said of Trump's accusations. "I neither like nor dislike him, I don't have any feelings about them, I study these guys as subjects, they are subjects for me to study and to help the audience get to know, so I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about him."
Though the GOP front-runner sounds pretty adamant about his decision, the 45-year-old thinks there's still a good chance he might change his mind.
"I will be surprised if he doesn't show up, Donald Trump is a showman, he's very good at generating interest, perhaps this is an effort to generate interest in our debate, if it is that is great, maybe we will have more eyeballs, if he doesn't show up maybe we will have fewer eyeballs, but either way it is going to be ok," she explained.
Trump likewise took to Twitter after news broke about his decision, where he referred to Kelly as a "lightweight" journalist.
"I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!" he tweeted on Wednesday.
According to Donald's campaign statement, he'll be holding an event in Iowa to raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors instead.
"Unlike the very stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, Mr. Trump knows when to walk away," his statement read. "Roger Ailes and FOX News think they can toy with him, but Mr. Trump doesn't play games."
Nevertheless, Megyn has her questions ready and waiting for Trump to answer.
"They've been written for over a week now," she revealed. "They are tough questions, but they are fair questions and he will get hit no harder than anyone else on that stage."
