Gary Shirley dropped a "Teen Mom" bombshell on last night's episode -- and now, Amber Portwood is speaking out!
On Monday night's episode, Amber's ex confronted her with legal documents saying her fiance, Matt Baier, had been hiding the truth about the number of children he has from previous relationships.
"Do you know how many kids he has?" Shirley asked her as the cameras rolled. "Two," Amber adamantly replied -- before Shirley went in for the kill. "He has 7."
To say Portwood was shocked by the confrontation is an understatement.
"I think that was really tasteless. Gary had told me a couple weeks after that he actually had known for a while, which just tells me that he just literally waited for the cameras to be there," she says in a video blog posted to MTV after the episode aired. "I think what his main goal was, was to humiliate us and to try to make our family look like it's not stable because this was when we were in the big custody battle."
The reality TV star says Baier, who is almost 20 years her senior, has five children -- and adds she "did know about them."
"The other ones are older with families and it wasn't something that was out," she explains. "Matt still says he has 5 kids. If he had 5, why the hell wouldn't he tell me if he had 7? He could have 10 and that wouldn't make a difference to me."
She goes on to paint a better picture of her fiance's past, which, like her own, is littered with some unsavory activities.
"His past was horrible, he wasn't a good person back then, he was a womanizing user, he was an addict," she says, Baier sitting beside her in silence. "That's the type of person he was. We went through a really rough patch because of this, it's like we had to rebuild our trust again in our relationship."
Finally speaking up, Baier adds, "He was under the impression that because he didn't know, she didn't know. Gary's not part of our family, we don't tell him everything that's going on in our life."
Of his children, he continues, "They were raised by a wonderful mother and a wonderful father and they had great lives … I think they would have had more animosity had I been more involved in their life, because I was a mess."
"I'm done with Gary and Kristina bashing me,," Amber added on Twitter while the episode aired. "I've grown too much to still be dealing with this negativity. Every time they say something negative they better be prepared for what I will reveal. I'm done being the bigger person ... I'm done."
Wonder what she might have in store ...
