Kim Kardashian is trying to bounce back to pre-baby shape, but admits it's hard the second time around.
The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star, who welcomed baby Saint in December, revealed that she still has 20 pounds of baby weight to lose, after gaining over 60 pounds during her pregnancy.
In January, the mother-of-two said she had lost 30 pounds on the Atkins diet and wanted to lose 40 more.
"I mean it's a challenge, it's not easy at all," Kim told E! News. "We just got back from our family vacation and every day, we were up early working out."
"You know, I have about 20 pounds to go," she added. "You know, and it really is hard. It's not easy. I gained a lot of weight and I have a lot to lose so you know I definitely feel good to a place where you know I'm comfortable again and things are starting to fit."
Kardashian put her post-baby bod on full display over the weekend in Las Vegas, where she showed off her killer curves in an embellished Balmain dress.
While she's still far from her goal weight, Mrs. Kanye West said the extra pounds are coming off more easily than with daughter North West.
"I think this time, more weight has come off quicker than last time because I kind of learned how to eat better," she told the outlet. "Last time, I worked out a little bit harder. This time I'm eating differently. So I'm doing the Atkins diet and it's just like, I'm so militant about it that I just started working out really hard and I think that the mix of the two will help this last 20 pounds, hopefully, you know, fly off. I'm praying."
toofab's Brittany Kyles recently chatted with Kim's nutritionist, Colette Heimowitz -- who's also the VP of Nutrition and Education at Atkins -- where she revealed what it's been like working with reality star and how the mother-of-two has bounced back so quickly after both of her pregnancies.
"Well, you know, she gained 60lbs with her second pregnancy again [laughs] and she wanted to get back to her pre-pregnancy weight," Colette told us about the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star. "She succeeded with Atkins with her first pregnancy and she remembered from doing it in college with her dad [Robert Kardashian], so family was there and it was familiar to her and she succeeded."
"She was able to reach her weight loss goals and keep her energy up, preserve lean tissue, you know, have her appetite under control," she continued. "She's great to work with because she is committed and very motivated which is a pleasure. As a nutritionist, you're only as good as you patient is compliant. So working with her has been a real pleasure."
While Kim's nutritionist says the reality star is rarely hungry on Atkins, sugar has definitely been one of the harder ingredients for her to give up.
"Well we're all sugar babies, we love sweet things, and those are usually high in sugar and high in carbohydrates," she said. "The success on Atkins is getting carbohydrates low enough so that the body burns fat as its primary fuel source. So you burn the fat you have stored and you burn the fat you are eating."
"So right now Kim is eating a wide variety of foods that include proteins like fish, chicken, eggs or different kinds of meat, colorful vegetables that are high in fiber, low glycemic fruits that are high in fiber, healthy fats like nuts and avocado," she explained. "The combination of high fiber, optimal protein and healthy fats really control the appetite."
Clearly Colette knows what she's talking about -- Kim's looking pretty darn amazing these days!
"We're really excited for her," Colette added about Mrs. Kanye West's success.
