The Kardashian family's trip to Cuba is off to a rocky start.
Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, North West, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Malika Haqq are currently filming the next season of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" in Havana, following the ease on travel restrictions to the country.
While their vacay started out innocently enough -- with the group posting pictures smoking Cuban cigars and riding around in classic convertibles that are oh-so-popular there -- Khloe really ticked off a few people with one of her snaps.
The 31-year-old reality TV star posted a pic of herself standing in front of a wall with the word "Fidel" written on it, an obvious reference to Cuba's former dictator Fidel Castro. Almost immediately, the comments started flooding in.
"Can someone get this bitch a history book? You obviously didn't learn S--- posing under that MURDERERS name," wrote one local follower.
"If you only knew the struggles us Cubans went and go through just to see our families, our home, you would have a different view of the picture you just posted," wrote another.
The comments continued, with messages like, "Such an ignorant thing to do, why you you pose by his name?!?! You clearly don't have a damn clue!!!!" and "How ignorant! Smh, next time you go visit a country, at least learn a little about its history" filling the comments section.
Other choice comments:
- "Why would you pose right under his name smh"
- "Not the wisest idea! This pic makes her look so ignorant! Smh... #SoSad #LearnTheHistoryFirst"
- "Educate yourself. Fidel is a murderer. You standing under his name is the equivalent of standing under a Hitler sign. You are all uneducated morons."
- "Please remove this picture. It is very offensive to us Cubans."
Not everyone bashed her.
"Its all about history and being able to be there for the first time in decades," one fan wrote. "She's not supporting his actions. People need to stop being so sensitive and judgmental and look deeper. And may God forgive me if I am wrong than it's still her opinion and not yours. Post your own round the world pics and beliefs and speak on them instead of downing others whether you believe or agree with them. Drop the mic. Out."
The group was later seen visiting San Cristóbal Restaurant in Havana, one of the restaurants President Barack Obama visited when he was in the country earlier this year. Check out photos from their family dinner -- taken by MaxxYes.com -- in the gallery above.
