"The Flash" star Violett Beane really wants her superhero closeup ... but admits she's got some training to do if that's ever going to happen.
The 20-year-old actress joined the CW series for its second season, appearing as Dr. Harrison Wells' Earth-2 daughter Jesse Wells. While her character hasn't manifested any metahuman powers just yet, her comic book-counterpart, Jesse Quick, is a speedster.
Beane is confirmed to return for Season Three, though the details surrounding Jesse's return are being kept hush hush for now. But if she gets her wish, we'll be seeing her race around set real soon.
"I don't know very much. They keep everything under wraps and don't tell anyone anything that they don't need to know," she tells toofab. "I know I'm coming back, I don't know if it's Jesse Wells or Jesse Quick. I know I want to put a suit on, so I hope soon and as Jesse Quick!"
There could be one minor problem though: "Running is going to be interesting. I'm an awkward runner, gotta work on that," she admits.
All joking aside, she tells us she'd love to play a strong female character who also happens to have superpowers.
"It adds something, it makes you more confident and aware of yourself," she says, adding that she's curious how the show would introduce her powers if it decided to go that route.
"That's going to be interesting to see how they're going to incorporate her powers, if it's an all of a sudden like or slowly starts to realize them like Barry did," she adds.
One thing she's not worried about: the super suits.
"While it is cool to pay homage to the original costume, I don't think it's practical for women to run around in underwear," she says, crediting The CW and DC for coming up with "realistic" takes on classic getups. "They show a tough side and a vulnerable side, just the way women do in real life."
We'll see what happens when "The Flash" returns for Season 3 in the fall. Check out the video above to see which actors Violett would love to share more screen time with and what else she's got in the works!
