Lady Gaga and Metallica's highly anticipated Grammys duet went off with a pretty major hitch: James Hetfield's microphone wasn't working.
So for the first minute or so of the performance on Sunday night, Gaga took over as lead singer while Hetfield sang "Moth Into Flame" lyrics into an ineffective mic.
While the mic malfunction was obvious to viewers watching the live CBS broadcast, the artists handled it like the rock stars they are and didn't sweat it. Instead, they shared Gaga's mic while adding some much-needed rock to the Grammy ceremony, which was largely dominated by pop, country and R&B acts, including Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and The Weeknd.
