Madonna may have just thrown some shade toward Universal Pictures and the team of filmmakers that are bringing a screenplay about her to life.
"Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen," the Queen of Pop wrote in an Instagram post (below) Tuesday. "Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society."
Her message comes a day after Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour") and Michael De Luca ("Fifty Shades of Grey") are producing "Blond Ambition" for the studio. Writer Elyse Hollander's script topped the 2016 Black List -- an annual ranking of Hollywood's best unproduced scripts.

View StoryAccording to THR, the screenplay is set in New York in the early 1980s as Madonna Louise Ciccone works on her first album amidst rampant misogyny in the music industry, while also dealing with a blossoming love life and the first signs of fame.
Universal and Brett Ratner's representative did not immediately respond to TooFab's request for comment on the matter.
