Hough confirmed to TooFab: "I'm probably going to get in trouble for even mentioning it, but we're thinking about it."
“I would actually love the fourth judge to be the audience, you know what I mean?," Hough said. "It would be really great to have the app of the scoring system that we have and have them to be able to play along at home and for that to be an actual score. That would be great.”
The series finale airs Tuesday night, but Hough is already looking ahead to next season where he will work closely with dancers to make sure their routines translate both live and on-screen.
"I've had conversations with fans and people that are like, 'Oh I disagree with this;' and I'm like, 'I understand you and I kind of agree with you if I was watching what you watched, but when you're in the room it is a different experience."
Hough credits his nine years of experience competing on “Dancing with the Stars” for formulating his reliable judge score.
“I competed before I did anything else so I understand the competition game and what that's like... so if anything that's helped me be a judge, you know beause I really understand what it takes and the ins and outs and how it's different to showcase something and to appreciate something and then to compete for something,” he said. "It's a different mentality, different strategy.”
