Sarah Paulson was literally scared out of her seat on Tuesday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," after the host spooked her an impressive three times during taping.
"I thought, she's in scary movies and scary TV shows all the time, she must love to be scared," DeGeneres explained before rolling the frighteningly funny footage.
The first surprise went down inside Paulson's dressing room, as DeGeneres popped out of a closet when her guest least expected it. Then, after the two watched the moment back on the main stage, a man dressed as a witch ran out behind her for another moment that left Sarah screaming.
Finally, Paulson looked to the box next to her seat and asked "Is someone going to come out of there?" You better believe it.

View StoryLater in the show, Paulson also broke down the real life phobias she has that "AHS" creator Ryan Murphy decided to integrate into the new season. On the show, Paulson's character's fears -- which include coulrophobia and trypophobia -- are heightened after Donald Trump's election win.
"I don't like clowns, I have a fear of heights, I have a fear of bees. I can be carrying a small child and if a bee comes around, that baby's getting dropped," Paulson explained. "I can have the best meal, just on the ground. Any sight of a bee will have me fleeing."
"[I have a] fear of any holes that are clustered or nestled. I don't like the look," she continued. "I have a real problem looking at it. I just think they're disgusting. A cluster, they're touching. I can't look at a coral reef or a natural sponge."
All of the things Paulson mentioned above have already appeared on "Cult" and show no sign of stopping anytime soon.
"American Horror Story: Cult" airs Tuesdays on FX.
