Hollywood's History of Sexual Misconduct

Couric breaks her silence on her former co-host.

Katie Couric shared her first thoughts, however brief, about former "Today" co-host Matt Lauer's termination for sexual misconduct.

After the journalist posted a photo showing her and her daughter back in the day, one of her many fans tagged her in the comments, asking for her thoughts on Lauer. Her short response: "It’s incredibly upsetting and I will say something when I’m ready to. Thanks for your interest."

The two co-hosted the NBC morning show for 15 years together, from 1991-2006, before she left for a gig at CBS news. Couric's 2012 "Watch What Happens Live" interview went viral after Lauer was fired, since she revealed he "pinches me on the ass a lot" when asked about Lauer's most "annoying" habit.

Lauer, who anchored NBC's "Today" for two decades, was let go in November due to an accusation of "inappropriate sexual behavior" toward a female colleague.

"On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. It represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company's standards," NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack wrote in a memo to staff at the time. "As a result, we've decided to terminate his employment. While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he's been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolate incident."

He apologized the following day, saying, via a statement: "There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly. Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I'm committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job. The last two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws. It's been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. I thank them for their patience and grace."

Since his termination, other allegations of misconduct have arisen, including one woman who said he gave her a sex toy as a present and a note saying he "wanted to use it on her."
