View StoryTye Sheridan's Wade Watts is the herp of the story and it's his narration that tells viewers what they need to know about this future dystopia as envisioned by author Ernest Cline in his book of the same name. He even has an alliterative name like Clark Kent and Peter Parker, which his dad did on purpose.
This latest trailer sets up the "Easter Egg" hunt that is at the heart of the story, as Halliday, the creator of the OASIS, has left in his will a vast fortune and control of the most important property in existence -- the OASIS itself -- to the person who can overcome his riddles and find the Egg.
In other words, it's a basic quest series, with young Watts and his allies playing for the side of good -- aka poor, regular folks like us -- while corporate entities try to use their financial resources and influence to rig the system against them.
Unfortunately, they can't just buy the Egg, though, they're rather forced to play Halliday's game.

When the first trailer dropped in June, they had weeks of fun poking at it. Just imagine their excitement when the film finally comes out March 30, 2018.
