"This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I've ever written where I'm from, and it's personal," Timberlake says in the sneak peek promo he dropped Tuesday morning. "Man of the Woods" will be Timberlake's first studio album in over four years.
Wife Jessica Biel and son Silas appear in the minute-long teaser, joining the "SexyBack" singer in various landscapes.
"It feels like mountains, trees, campfires, like wild west, like now," an unidentified woman's voice says in the teaser.
Pharrell Williams also makes a cameo in the video, saying, "It feels so earthy, it's just where you are in your life right now." He's later shown in the studio with Timberlake working on music and letting out an excited, "That -- is a smash."
Lemonade is about the historical legacy of slavery and racial oppression in America on black love. The Man of the Woods is going to be about the historical legacy of how white male privilege gave Justin Timberlake more success with hip-hop/rnb than his black contemporaries right?
