P!nk announced Saturday morning that she's suffering from the flu, just one day before she is set to perform the National Anthem on what is arguably the biggest stage: Super Bowl LII.
The "What About Us" singer pointed the finger to her two children, Willow and Jameson. "I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek," she wrote on her Instagram, sharing a photo from rehearsals.
Super Bowl weekend is well underway in Minneapolis, where the New England Patriots will to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. For P!nk, the chance to open the sporting event is an opportunity she's been dreaming for for 17 years.
"I've been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song," she wrote. With her roots in Philadelphia and the chance to perform in front of her hometown team, P!nk said she does not want to disappoint.
"I will tell you, this is one of the biggest honors of my life, singing this song in front of my family, my military family, my dad and brother and step mama and family and the world. And the EAGLES!?!?!" P!nk wrote. "I promise I will do my best."
