Kimmel's apprehensive to learn of Ellen's "surprise," telling her, "That could go either way on this show."

Ellen DeGeneres honored longtime friend Jimmy Kimmel with one incredible surprise paying tribute to the late-night host's 10-month-old son.

Kimmel's baby boy, Billy, was born with a genetic heart disease that required him to have two different operations. Kimmel has regularly spoken about the emotional experience on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," choking up almost every single time. To Ellen, that's one thing she loves most about him.

"You're such a great guy, and that was so emotional to see you go through that," Ellen told Kimmel Tuesday on her show. "But when anything -- the latest school shooting -- you get very emotional. And I love that about you."

"I'm tearing up right now, to be honest with you," he replied. "It's embarrassing to me. I try not to cry."

Ellen then told Kimmel she had a surprise for him, one which brought on the waterworks once again.

"That could go either way on this show," he jokingly replied.

"We called our friends at Children's Hospital L.A., including Billy's surgeon, and we have named one of the rooms of the heart institute floor in honor of Billy," Ellen revealed along with another special gift for her longtime friend.
