Elvis Costello revealed he underwent surgery for cancer forcing him to cancel tour dates, in a statement issued on Friday.
The celebrated singer and songwriter canceled the rest of his European summer tour after undergoing surgery for a "small but very aggressive" tumor.
The 63-year-old said he needed time to recover following the operation.
In his statement, Costello promised he'd try to "return at the soonest opportunity." He also admitted that he initially assumed he would be able to resume his tour as planned. However, the surgery proved to be more taxing than he originally imagined.
