Ariana Grande Predicted Pete Davidson Marriage in 2016, Shares New Album Tracks With 'Fallon'

It turns out, Grande knew she and Davidson had a future together before they were even friends. After talking about and playing a few lines from the track "Pete Davidson" on the album, the pop star opened up about how she and Davidson first met when she hosted "Saturday Night Live" back in 2016.

Davidson recently revealed to GQ that he proposed to her on the first day they met. Apparently that insta-attraction was mutual.

"I left his writers' room where we were writing skits and stuff for the show," Grande told Fallon. "And I jokingly said to my tour manager, 'I'm marrying him, 100 percent.' I was like, 'I'm literally gonna marry him.'"

Even better? "We weren't even friends, didn't even see him at the after-party," Grande admitted. In fact, she said they weren't friends "for a long time" after that.

"I had the biggest crush in the world on him the whole time, like forever," she added. "Like my friends used to make fun of me and all that stuff."

Of the track on the album named after her fiance, Grande said, "it was either gonna be that or 'This Is About Pete Davidson.' I was like, 'Why not? Be direct.'" Fallon played his audience a sample of that song, as well as a few bars from "Breathin'."

"It's about breathing," Grande joked, before explaining that it was really about anxiety and what it feels like to experience a panic attack.

"We were in the studio, we were writing and I was like, 'I can't breathe,'" Grande said. "They were like, 'We're gonna write this song.' I was like, 'Okay, still can't breathe, but we'll write it.' We made this song. I can kind of breathe now, so we're good. Progress."
