Cardi B opened the "2018 MTV Video Music Awards" by turning to the audience with a precious bundle swaddled in her arms.
She must have forgotten to tell hubby Offset about her plans, too.
The Best New Artist winner shared the story with her Twitter followers Monday night after the ceremony, where she won two additional awards. Cardi scored Best Collaboration for "Dinero" with Jennifer Lopez and DJ Khaled, as well as Song of Summer for "I Like It," featuring Bad Bunny and J Blavin.
Why Set said i was sooo mad, when i saw you on stage with that blanket 😩I thought you was going to show Kulture 😩😩😂😂😂😩— iamcardib (@iamcardib) August 21, 2018
In her tweet, Cardi wrote, "[Offset] said, 'I was sooo mad when I saw you on stage with that blanket. I thought you was going to show Kulture.'"
Same, Offset. Same. Fans have been waiting since Cardi gave birth on July 10 to get a glimpse of the couple's first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus. And a reveal during a live broadcast wouldn't have exactly been new territory for the rapper. She first revealed her pregnancy during a performance on "Saturday Night Live" back in April.
For now, fans will simply have to be patient as Cardi clearly plans to keep her baby all to herself a little while longer. But that won't stop her from trolling her eager fans every once in awhile as she masterfully did tonight.
Maybe next time, though, let your husband in on the joke.
