In a teaser trailer for its 2019 lineup, HBO revealed the first tiny glimpse of Season 8 of "Game of Thrones" -- blink and you might miss it -- in addition to showing a first look at Meryl Streep in Season 2 of "Big Little Lies" and Mahershala Ali's debut in "True Detective" Season 3.
19 Emmy Snubs From Revivals Like 'Twin Peaks' and 'Roseanne' to Emmy Favorites Like 'Game of Thrones'
View StoryWhen we say first footage of the highly-anticipated final season of "Game of Thrones," we mean a very, very tiny preview -- in fact just one shot. The HBO trailer shows multiple epic shots from Season 7, but it's only when Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) is shown embracing Jon Snow (Kit Harington) that we see our first glimpse of what's to come next year.Fans dissected the two second hug, particularly Sansa's expression. Is she happy? Sad? Angry? One fan even predicted that she's looking at Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon's new lover.

Also in the teaser, we see a quick shot of Streep's long-awaited debut in "Big Little Lies." The three-time Oscar winner will be playing Mary Louise Wright, the mother of the late Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard) and in-law to Celeste (Nicole Kidman).
Other shows teased in the clip are new seasons of "The Deuce," "Barry," "Veep," and "Room 104," as well as new shows and specials "Pod Save America," "Flight of the Concords," "Jane Fonda: In Five Acts," "The Shop," "My Brilliant Friend," "Camping," and "My Dinner with Herve."
Another anticipated show is the third season of "True Detective," led by Ali. HBO not only teased the show in the clip, but released an entire trailer for the new season. The eerie and gritty crime series promises a revival of the show that will match that of Season 1's greatness, after a botched Season 2.
The new installment features Ali as Wayne Hays, a police detective from Northwest Arkansas. Season 3 "tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods." "Blade" star Stephen Doff plays Hays' partner Roland West, while Ray Fisher ("Justice League") will play Hays' son.
The show is set to be released in January. Watch the full teaser below.
