"You keep defending Kavanaugh and all those guys, maybe you’ll defend me for one second here," Arnold told the host.
Tom Arnold and Megyn Kelly got into it on Tuesday morning during an interview on "Megyn Kelly TODAY," where Arnold addressed his recent scuffle with "Apprentice" producer Mark Burnett and his wife, Roma Downey.
Earlier this month, Arnold and Burnett had an altercation at a pre-Emmy party. According to a TMZ eyewitness, Tom confronted the producer, who allegedly grabbed Arnold's throat before "Survivor" host Jeff Probst broke the whole thing up. Downey said she was left bruised, while Arnold filed a police report.
Tom Arnold Claims 'Apprentice' Producer Mark Burnett 'Choked' Him at Pre-Emmys Party
View StoryOn Kelly's show this morning, Arnold -- who was promoting his Viceland show "The Hunt for the Trump Tapes" -- said he has seen video of Donald Trump saying the n-word and believes Burnett has the power to release them. "Here's a guy that pretends nothing is going on, he's Donald Trump's best friend he talks to him three times a week," Arnold alleged. "He's covering for him, he's complicit, because he knows what's on there."
When Kelly brought up the fight, she first mentioned Downey's tweet from the night of the party. "Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event," she posted. "Is your TV show worth it Tom? Please stop,"
"Roma Downey's like, 'Julie Chen, hold my beer,'" Arnold said, getting pushback from Kelly. "I love Julie Chen but she's like, 'I am going to be with my CEO husband when he assaults someone and I am gonna say that person assaulted me. I am going to lie.' That's what [Downey] did. She is saying I assaulted her."
Getting fired up, Kelly told her guest, "don't disparage her on personal terms or Julie Chen for that matter."
"No, I love Julie Chen. [Downey] said I assaulted her, she said I assaulted her publicly," he replied. "That's disparaging me. I didn't touch her, I didn't see her. That bruise is 5 days old."
"Think about this," he said, trying to poke holes in Burnett's side of the story. "I went to the party, allegedly uninvited, and according to their story, I beat up the CEO of MGM and his wife and then I didn't get arrested or anything and I got to stay at the party all night?"
"What is going on! And, yeah, I file a police report and I had to go to the hospital because I had a paralyzed vocal cord and I had to get a cat scan because my neck's messed up," he continued.
Kelly kept trying to steer the conversation forward, as Arnold only got more riled up.
"That woman was touched by an angel on TV right!? She's touched by Tom Arnold, she's touched by the devil right there," he continued.
"Let's be honest, if you did assault her as she claims, then it's no laughing matter," Kelly interrupted.
Megyn Kelly Gets Fired Up Over Kavanaugh Accusers: 'He's Saying He Didn't Do It!'
View Story"No, no, no, no, she said I assaulted her, it's no damn laughing matter, Megyn," Arnold shot back. "I'm saying it's no laughing matter for her to do that and it didn't happen, am I right? Because you keep defending Kavanaugh and all those guys, maybe you'll defend me for one second here."
"No I won't," Kelly replied. "And I'm not defending Kavanaugh, I'm asking for a fair hearing. People are looking to condemn Kavanaugh without a fair hearing."
When Arnold tried to interrupted her, she told him, "No, no, no, no, I will set the record straight, it's my show. What I want is a fair hearing for Kavanaugh and for his accuser. That's what's fair."
Though her guest kept trying to get another word in, time was up and Kelly had to abruptly cut him off.
After the show aired on the East Coast, Arnold turned to Twitter to sarcastically thank Kelly for her time. "Right before i went out she shamed America for being mean to Ted Cruz at a restaurant so I figured I might be in trouble," he tweeted. "Happy One Year Anniversary @megynkelly @MegynTODAY i do appreciate you letting me promote #TheHuntForTheTrumpTapes."
She later tweeted, "Thank you @TomArnold for coming on. Whatever one thinks of Trump or Tom's search for the alleged 'Trump Tapes,' Tom's new show is genuinely funny."
"The Hunt for the Trump Tapes" debuts tonight on Viceland.
