Arnold tells Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" that the "Today" host told him to "light it up" before the show cut to Trump's UN address.
Tom Arnold was still fired up over his wild interview with Megyn Kelly on "Today" Tuesday morning when he dropped by Andy Cohen's clubhouse on "Watch What Happens Live."
During the aftershow, Cohen simply had to ask how Arnold felt about that interview. "We lit it up!" is probably the best way to describe Arnold's reaction.
Things Get Heated Between Tom Arnold and Megyn Kelly Over Mark Burnett Confrontation
View Story"I loved it," he said, explaining that Kelly told him before they went on the air that they weren't going to have a lot of time before NBC was going to throw it to Trump speaking at the UN.
According to Arnold, Kelly told him, "They're gonna cut in five minutes, so lets light it up."
"I don't know if she meant to light it up like we lit it up, but me and Megyn Kelly lit it up!" he said laughing. "I'm sure we think different ways, but we lit it up and it was good TV."
He then compared their chat with what came after, and not favorably. "There's nothing worse than boring," Arnold said. "I'm telling you, me and Megyn Kelly were killing it and then they cut to Donald Trump and he was so boring and that is a fact. I don't care where your politics are, he was so boring at the UN."
On Kelly's show Tuesday morning, Arnold -- who was promoting his Viceland show "The Hunt for the Trump Tapes" -- said he has seen video of Donald Trump saying the n-word and believes Burnett has the power to release them.
"Here's a guy that pretends nothing is going on, he's Donald Trump's best friend he talks to him three times a week," Arnold alleged. "He's covering for him, he's complicit, because he knows what's on there."
Tom Arnold Claims 'Apprentice' Producer Mark Burnett 'Choked' Him at Pre-Emmys Party
View StoryThis brought them to a conversation about the alleged attack at a pre-Emmys part. According to a TMZ eyewitness, Tom confronted the producer, who allegedly grabbed Arnold's throat before "Survivor" host Jeff Probst broke the whole thing up. Downey said she was left bruised, while Arnold filed a police report.
The two sparred over what happened, Roma Downey's claim and even the Kavanaugh hearing, but there were no hard feelings when all was said and done.
After the show aired on the East Coast, Arnold turned to Twitter to thank Kelly for her time. "Right before i went out she shamed America for being mean to Ted Cruz at a restaurant so I figured I might be in trouble," he tweeted. "Happy One Year Anniversary @megynkelly @MegynTODAY i do appreciate you letting me promote #TheHuntForTheTrumpTapes."
She later tweeted, "Thank you @TomArnold for coming on. Whatever one thinks of Trump or Tom's search for the alleged 'Trump Tapes,' Tom's new show is genuinely funny."
"The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold" airs Tuesday nights at 10:30 p.m. ET on Viceland.
