Azealia Banks and Lana Del Rey Got Into an Epic Twitter Fight Over Kanye West During the 'AMAs'

Amidst all the trending topics from the "American Music Awards" on Twitter, Lana Del Rey's name cropped up on Tuesday night, and that's because Twitter found itself very invested in her sudden war with Azealia Banks.

Neither singer took part in the festivities at the "AMAs," so they instead spent their evening fighting and threatening one another over social media and it got real personal real quick.

Things got so heated that Del Rey tweeted -- and has since deleted -- an offer to physically fight Banks. To this Banks threatened to contact her lawyer, but even that didn't slow Del Rey down.

The whole bizarre feud stems back to a comment Del Rey made to an Instagram post by Kanye West way back on September 30.

Del Rey commented that West's support of Trump is "a loss for the culture," as reported by The Independent. She went on to say, "I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism," taking particular issues with Trump's infamous "grab 'em by the pussy" line, suggesting that West needs an intervention if he's going to continue to support him.

Banks shot back immediately with a comment of her own, telling Del Rey, "Don't use Kanye for your own vapid attempts to seem politically aware."

She even went so far as to call Del Rey a hypocrite in a lengthy Twitter thread, writing, "This would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with ASAP rocky who has physically assaulted women too." She went on to say that Del Rey approves of him because "his victims weren't white" and calls for her to apologize to West.

Del Rey went with a much simpler approach in a response that took her a week to formulate. She simply invited Banks to show up at her house and they'd fight it out. "U know the addy. Pull up any time. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn't," Del Rey wrote in a tweet that has since been taken down, as reported by People.

In fact, Del Rey took down most of her tweets in this feud, including the more direct threat where she said, "I won't not f--k you the f--k up. Period," and one where she said she'd send Banks the number to a good psychiatrist because "your psych meds aren't working."

She did leave up a tweet calling out Banks for attacking her, and offering up a not-so-subtle dig at her career.

Banks, on the other hand, seems to have absolutely lit up when Del Rey took the bait and finally responded and started fighting with her. She went on and on and on with escalating anger and insults. After calling out Del Rey for mocking over mental health issues, she viciously attacked Del Rey's appearance.

And unlike Del Rey, all of her burns are still active on her site. We've gathered just a few of them below, because this fight got nasty and some of it is very NSFW.

It's hard to say if Del Rey got tired of fighting or simply got tired as the feud dragged on and fell asleep. Either way, the whole thing eventually petered out, but we're pretty confident Twitter will be checking on Wednesday to see if either lady wakes up and jumps right back into the fray.
