During filming of HBO's "My Dinner with Herve," Dornan's co-star Peter Dinklage offered his aid for "Fifty Shades Freed" reshoots, stepping into Dakota Johnson's Ana role.
Jamie Dornan found himself with an unexpectedly odd opportunity when filming for his latest project, HBO's "My Dinner with Herve," overlapped with reshoots needed for "Fifty Shades Freed."
He told James Corden on "The Late Late Show" that filming on the biopic of "Fantasy Island" star Herve Villechaize had shifted from France to Los Angeles when Dornan got the scripts for the "Fifty Shades" scenes.
Jamie Dornan Makes Action Movie Debut in Trailer for Another 'Robin Hood' Remake
View StorySuddenly his "Herve" co-star Peter Dinklage made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Honestly, we don't think anyone would have refused it. Or should have, quite frankly.
"He was like, 'Do you want me to like run lines with you?'" Dornan recalled of Dinklage. "I was like, 'Okay, how bad could it be?'"
It could only be great. Dinklage isn't an Emmy-winning actor because he's not great at his job. In fact, Dornan had to give the "Game of Thrones" star praise for his impromptu performance.
"Pete, he really grasps Ana," Dornan said. And suddenly we agreed with Corden that the real tragedy of the situation is that no one was there to film it.
And it's not like no one else was there, as Dornan admitted that Sacha Gervasi, their director on "Herve," couldn't resist getting in on it, too. "He had great fun reading out the stage directions," Dornan laughed. We can only imagine.
How 'Fifty Shades' Star Eric Johnson Made Anastasia Steele's Boss a Total 'Douchebag' (Exclusive)
View StoryConsidering that most of the scenes between Dornan's Christian Grey and Ana, portrayed by Dakota Johnson in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, were sexually charged to say the least, and downright kinky at times, we can only imagine all three of them having a blast.
We're not sure how helpful it ultimately proved for Dornan, but we do know one thing, and we think you need to join us on this adventure. Dornan said that one of the scenes he got the script for was the ice cream scene.
So now we all need to find the film and watch at least that scene -- if you haven't the stomach for the whole movie -- and picture Dinklage in pace of Johnson. We think we'll all be glad we did.
